Vaavu Atoll, also known as Felidhu Atoll, is one of the Maldives’ best-kept diving secrets. Situated south of Malé Atoll, it remains relatively undeveloped, meaning its reefs are among the most pristine in the archipelago. The atoll’s dramatic channels and thilas (submerged reefs) attract diverse pelagic life including hammerhead sharks, thresher sharks, and dense schools of fusiliers.
Felidhu Atoll Conservation Area protects much of the marine environment here. The few resorts are intimate and exclusive, appealing to serious divers and those seeking genuine tranquillity.
