Haa Dhaalu Atoll (South Thiladhunmathi) sits adjacent to Haa Alifu in the far north of the Maldives. The atoll is known for its dramatic coral pinnacles that rise from the seabed, creating spectacular dive sites festooned with soft corals and populated by large groupers, sweetlips, and snappers.

Hanimaadhoo island has an airport, making the atoll somewhat accessible, and several guesthouses offer base camp-style diving tourism that is excellent value. The coral reefs here have recovered well and now rival Maldives’ premier southern sites.
