Gaafu Alifu Atoll forms the northern section of the magnificent Huvadhu Atoll — geographically the largest atoll in the world. The atoll’s enormous size means it is dotted with hundreds of islands, the vast majority uninhabited and in pristine condition.

The diving here is extraordinary and almost completely undiscovered — the outer reef walls are covered in spectacular coral formations and host tiger sharks, hammerheads, and whale sharks. The town of Viligili is the most populous in the south and a great base for exploring.
